In short: Zoho is on the Ministry of Finance list of accredited e-invoicing service providers, so Zoho Books users can appoint Zoho as their ASP and keep invoicing from Zoho Books. The account still has to be prepared first: invoice fields, customer and supplier data, and integration settings.
If your business already runs on Zoho Books, UAE e-invoicing does not have to mean new software. Zoho is an accredited e-invoicing service provider, so you can appoint it as your Accredited Service Provider (ASP) and send and receive e-invoices from the system you already use. What it does mean is getting your Zoho Books account ready, and that is where most of the work is.
Zoho as your ASP
Every business that issues or receives B2B or B2G invoices must appoint an ASP. Zoho Software Trading LLC appears on the Ministry of Finance list of accredited e-invoicing service providers (accreditation number 121988). For a Zoho Books user, that means invoicing, VAT and e-invoicing can stay in one system.
How the connection works
Zoho describes the set-up in three stages:
- Add the required tax IDs in Zoho Books.
- Select Zoho Software Trading LLC as your ASP in EmaraTax, the Federal Tax Authority’s portal.
- Complete the e-invoicing set-up in Zoho Books to connect your account.
Once connected, you create e-invoices in Zoho Books and send them to your customers through the system.
What to prepare before you switch on
The connection is the easy part. An e-invoice is structured data, so anything missing or wrong in your account shows up immediately. Before go-live, check:
- Invoice fields: the fields e-invoicing requires are set up and completed on your invoice templates.
- Customer and supplier records: names, addresses and TRNs are complete and correct.
- Items and services: descriptions and VAT treatment are set correctly for each item.
- Integration settings: the e-invoicing settings in Zoho Books are configured and tested.
- Your team: everyone who raises invoices knows what changes.
Common mistakes
- Treating it as a software switch. Poor customer data and wrong VAT codes cause more problems than the connection itself.
- Leaving TRNs incomplete. Missing or wrong TRNs on customer records stop invoices going through cleanly.
- Waiting for the go-live date. The ASP has to be appointed earlier, and data clean-up takes time.
Your deadlines
- Revenue of AED 50 million or more: appoint an ASP by 30 October 2026, go live by 1 January 2027.
- Revenue below AED 50 million: appoint an ASP by 31 March 2027, go live by 1 July 2027.
